rodeina Davis has retired as vice president and chief information
officer at BloodCenter of Wisconsin, and lynne briggs, mba, will
succeed her in these roles. Davis joined the blood center in 2001 and
has been heavily involved with radio-frequency identification technology.
In 2010, she received an AABB President’s Award for her work with
RFID. She graduated from California Polytechnic University in Pomona.
Briggs most recently worked at the blood center as director of
information technology. Previously, Briggs was senior vice president
of software engineering at Catalyst International. Briggs earned her
bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, completed her
master’s coursework at the Institute of Labor-University of Illinois, and
received her master’s of business administration from the University
of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She also is a member and past chair of the AABB Information
Systems Committee.
harry l. taylor iV, mD, director of the blood bank and transfusion service
at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland and associate
professor of pathology at Case Western Reserve University, passed away
last month. He previously worked as the medical director of the Mid-
Atlantic region of the American Red Cross Blood Services and as director
of clinical pathology, medical director of the medical technology program
and associate professor of pathology at West Virginia University. In addition, he was an
assistant professor of pathology at the College of Medicine and Dentistry at University of
North Carolina-Chapel Hill and Eastern Virginia Medical School. Taylor served as Lieuten-
ant Commander in the Marine Corps and Naval Reserves, once stationed at Portsmouth
Naval Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Geor-
gia and his post-doctoral training at North Carolina Memorial Hospital. He was an AABB
member since 1976 and an assessor.
